Read up a bit about the meat industry and the treatment of animals. It may change your standard of what humans are actually willing to accept and condone just by turning the blind eye. Ignorance is blessing. The book is fantastic because it is a piece of awareness and a warning what happens if we go too far with our compliance of the government decisions and our own acceptance.

You're taking a cue from someone who didn't understand the point of the novel. I recommend reading some of the other comments here to get a better understanding of what you're skipping based on misunderstanding/misinformation.
