I read the book. Good but I really don't understand the author's love for Deborah. Simon and her father weren't royal pains she made them in this book! But of course, Deborah is perfect and all others have to be shown as lesser people compared to her. Yet later they open the house to the threatened family without any fuss. I detest her as a fictional character since the book about motherhood in which a transsexual woman died because of her meddling, and still Deorah was the one consoled by Simon and Lynley!
