Susan Haines Kids learn about these parts in school by age 12 (and hopefully earlier from their parents) so I think it's okay.

Georgette I also think it's okay to warn about it on a Goodreads comment, in case younger kids, or kids who think that's gross don't want to read it! :)

Susan Haines Well, if we're going to put out a child trigger warning for the book, maybe it should focus on 6,000,000 dead people. I taught sex ed to kids for many years--they can handle the correct description of genitals.

Georgette My argument is only that there should be a warning, for parents like the person asking the question, so they can know something serious like that is being discussed. We expect to read about the holocaust (6,000,000 dead people), but that is very unexpected and out of the blue that should have equal discernment, since sex is a serious subject that with serious psychological effects. Parents will want to make sure their child is ready and talked to in the way they think is appropriate, since it has so any consequences. Unless you had bad intentions, you shouldn't object to a warning?!?!
