message 1: by Holly (new)

Holly As a family caregiver for loved ones with dementia (terminal, incurable, endlessly progressing), I enjoyed reading this book. Her honesty and refusal to settle for bullshit platitudes help me face my own and my loved ones' lived reality. There are moments of humor and grace, and she makes cuddling with her young son come alive just as much as hearing and facing the worst news possible. I don't identify with her Christianity but I do connect with her spiritual stretch for meaning, hope, presence, and understanding.
