After re-reading, I think you're right. The bank robber is never actually named.
The thing that ruined this theory is why would Nadia be unable to afford rent? Her having a good job makes it unlikely that she would rob a bank.

The bank robber definitely was not Nadia. She was the one whose spouse left her for the boss and is trying to take away the kids. Nadia was the girl that was saved from jumping off the bridge. That was why she became a therapist.
