I listened to the audio version, which was spectacular. I don't think I would have stuck with it in print long enough to appreciate the skill of the writer.
The writer may be skilled, but it was a terrible story & I barely got thru it. Whether you listen or read, this book plods along until Molly's deplorable behavior at the end, for which there is no justification. It made me cringe.
Thanks for writing that for me. WAY to long to finish that book. And for some reason I'm quibbling with myself about it's saving graces.
I agree, it was a tedious book, with poorly written, flat characters. I had to speed it up to 2x to get to the end faster. Even the reader was annoying. Molly is supposed to be naive and repeats grandmother's stupid dictums, but she's ok lying in court about the murderer, and gets to impart her own justice in the end, stupid badly written book, annoying characters, waist of time.
