My editor and I have known one another for a very long time. I was very lucky. No, LOL-most publishers do not just set you up with an editor to fix your manuscript. Many agents will tell you that the work needs to be as close to "barnes and noble ready" as it can be BEFORE you send it to them let alone a publisher. Yes there are free lance editors. Thank you! I didn't know there were different types of editors. How did you find yours? Do they do freelance work? I thought that the publisher has someone to edit the books?
