It is not as strange a question as it seems to be on its face value. You see to us non-Americans "For the millions of *Americans* who want spirituality without religion...", is definitely a red flag, as we all share the fate of trying to dive into literature and films that were just "too American" for our liking. There is a saying in Hindi that a person who has had his tongue burnt with milk drinks Buttermilk with a heightened cautiousness.
