Beth M I agree!! After two daughters dying you wouldn't care about a literary exercise . I get wanted to make the fiction world darker than your own, but I still think it's far fetched that a loving mother wouldngo there at all

MacKensye Right?! At that point if you're doing antagonistic journaling, you are taking it too far by admitting to killing a child.

And you don't just simply fake being paralyzed for weeks on end if you aren't some sort of messed up. Also, who doesn't write a disclaimer on a biography/manuscript like that?! One where that isn't needing a disclaimer...

Last thought, the title "So Be It" also indicates "this is my last f**k you."

My husband agrees that even if the manuscript isn't real, she has done too

Beth M Yah who could even write in detail about trying to coat hanger a baby... And the baby had a scar! Any parent whose kid is born with a scar could not even write that was the reason

Arfa Also when the girls were born and they were in the hospital room she said "give me the scarred one" when referring to chastin. No mother in any circumstance would call their daughter scarred not unless they hate their daughter like she did. If she had never said that irl, Jeremy would've known the manuscript wasn't true considering it was written in the manuscript.

Franco D although true, the letter does also contain elements of truth (e.g. previous choking attempts etc.). In any case, we have to remember that this is fiction (all in the authors imagination) and the story (especially) the ending contains serious inconsistencies that wouldn't really have happened in real life.

Hoda Yeah, no mother would even write or think of killing her children. She is a writer, sure, but no one would ever write about their children like that, especially print it.

message 7: by Anne (new)

Anne Plus he even said that the relationship wasn't fulfilling and what he wanted so like obviously it wasn't perfect like she was trying to make it sound in the letter
