When you receive a free ARC, it is customary to note that in your review so that others know you did indeed get a free book in exchange for a review. Reviews are supposed to be honest though. I've read ARCs where I then gave five stars. I've read ARCs where I've given one star. Trust me, you don't get "paid" -- you get a free book to read. And ARCs cannot legally be sold so the only thing you can get is a good time and hopefully a fun read.
