I wondered about this as well. Seemed odd as setting fire in an enclosed space is not ideal.
It would also take far greater heat than he’s be able to produce to burn a body to ashes!
There was a burnt smell Sophie had complained about and was trying to get it out of the house. When the twins arrived, they mentioned it as well. So Liam burning the body and Sophie moving into the house coincided. And yes, I believe the tunnel was connected to Sophie's house.
