I have to say that I came to the conclusion that she added Pride and Prejudice to simply just express her disappointment in it and as a rebellion against all of the acclaim for it.
Now I will definitely read the book, just to check whether Robert Blumenthal is right. I am one of the minority who don't get the hype, as I explained in my own anser above. Witty, yes, funny, yes, but Austen is fundamentally the Great Mother of All Chick Lit writers, and tha, my friends, is in my eyes a capital crime. At the same level of the use of the word "unputdownable".
