No, Anna was the main focus & Quan was her boyfriend. What are you disappointed about??
I'm disappointed that the book was focused more on Anna than Quan. I barely got a glimpse of what happened to Quan and his cancer. The last part of the book was exhausting because mainly it was Anna's POV. That is my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
Hoang's writes about people on the "spectrum" & in this story, that is Anna. But agreed...the caretaking subplot went on far too long & was exhausting without Quan & the romance. What happened to Quan is he lost his swagger after the surgery & feels like "less of a man." He's different now, & maybe that's why he was attracted to Anna? The Quan in this book doesn't seem to be what readers expected or wanted though.
I don't mind that she writes about spectrum. I loved The Kiss Quotient and I've read her two other books because of it. The readers have known Quan from two previous books and we were definitely expecting more. Hoang could've written a stand alone novel about Anna and it would've been fine. She made Quan a side character on this one rather than an equal.
