100% agree. She doesn't know how a telephone works but she pulled this off?
Shd did not know how to buy a bus ticket, but hatched the idea when Tate encouraged her to take the bus to Greenville to meet with her publisher.
It is not like she had TV to watch true crime dramas, and knew to wipe away fingerprints, sweep away footsteps. Perhaps she read it in one of the books Tate gave her?
she may have not seen crime dramas but let’s not forget she is a voracious reader…. and could have stumbled into a book from the library or an article in a newspaper about fingerprints
also, at the early part of the story line, the book mentioned how she was covering footprints, or making misleading tracks when the school people comes to her shack to take her to school (chapter 4, page 31)
so she does know how to hide her tracks…
