Laura L. I did a search on my kindle, Trump is only mentioned 14 times in the whole book

Becca Thanks for verifying my thoughts. It's even fewer times that I expected.

R.A. Lopez That's called a Mary Sue or a self-insert character and is largely considered poor or lazy writing. A person who hates the president writing a character who hates the president and mentions him mentally often? That's bad writing and you know it. If it WAS THE PURPOSE of the BOOK and STORY, that would be fine, but it's not so it of course is a self insert and a sign he's not doing his best here.

Becca You can consider it poor or lazy writing if you'd like, but I disagree. I think it gives a more personal insight to the character in the book. It made me understand and like Billy Summers even more than I would have otherwise.

Heidi Pretty sure that's not what a Mary Sue is ;-) . And I agree with Becca - it tells me who the character is. It would have been strange if Billy Summers was _not_ obsessed with Trump, considering everyone else at the time was.
