Lwcimino226gmail.Com It was terribly confusing......and I felt pointless.

Annie I felt she chose Jonas in the very minute she asked her husband to swim ( who refused )and then put down her wedding ring on her way to the pond. My other thought was suicide, honestly.

Gail Butler Our Overview Book Club met tonight and one of our members thinks, and we all agree, that Elle committed suicide. The author says the answer is in the first 3 pages and after rereading those pages, it is crystal clear.

Lisa Naaktgeboren I don’t get that at all. Even after rereading the first 3 pages.

Regan Yes yes yes. You are the only person I’ve found that has my same thought. Pressing her ring to her lifeline indicates an end to her life. There is such a strong theme of drowning and Elle has never forgiven herself for pretty much anything. She is a far more broken person than what other people see. Even her mother knew about the different kinds of swim.

Annie Regan...💯

Jennifer I was confused too! Well I hope it was Jonas and not suicide! :(

Jill At the end of those three pages it does say this is the end of a long story. The only problem I have with the thought she committed suicide was that Jonas was standing at the other end of the pond so wouldn't he save her.

Judith There's no evidence to support suicide, don't know how anyone could come to that conclusion.
