RIght, and I interpreted it as Shelby was having an affair with Cassandra's husband (Marty) since he was leaving at night with lame excuses, and Cassandra assumed he was having an affair with Meredith. So if baby Grace was given to her biological father (Marty), are we to assume angry Cassandra was fine with it? I wish that plot point had been addressed.
