Liz Nichols So well said, Sharon! So many other questions and comments here are focused on Klara's qualities as an AI/AF. But I agree, Ishiguro is hiding (or just cloaking) his view of humanity in a narrator who is more human than she is presented on the surface. He is asking us to look deeper and constantly observe and interpret, to treat our beliefs as "estimates" but stay optimistic, just as Klara does.

Lotta That's what I took away as well, a robot can understand humanity better than humans. Well, some, like Klara can. It also shows that most human conditions can be taught, are taught - empathy, observation, kindness, listening etc. They bought a robot to do all those things that humans are increasingly becoming incapable of (as we saw with the other lifted kids in the group meet).
