Melissa Bastone YEA! I feel like that was put in there by the author to really connect the dots that the letter in the end was a lie. Another manipulative tactic.

Judy Parris My first thought at the end was that Verity didn't mention the scar in the letter; I think she forgot about it! I'm team manuscript!

Shasta I also think about her first attempt to kill Harper. Maybe she wasn't on the spectrum, but had brain damage to lack of oxygen for that period of time when Verity tried to kill her.

Brittany Chandler This is a good point. Yea the scar was real. So maybe the manuscript was real.

Linda S If using the hanger for attempting an abortion was able to injure the face enough to create a scar, it would have first ruptured the membranes (amniotic cavity) in order to get to the face and caused a successful abortion. This is a medically implausible part of the book.

Bella (Kiki) I think Verity's manuscript was the truth, but she couldn't have inflicted the scar of Chastin. The knife would have had to pierce the amniotic sac, which would have sent Verity into labor or caused her more problems that she had. It didn't, but that doesn't mean Verity didn't try to kill the girls. I think she did. Verity was the essence of manipulation and evil.

Eva my mom knows someone that is missing a hand because of a botched abortion. so it could maybe happen.
