Rhinnan i think she wanted to focus on the general stigmatization of mental illness in society as well as how un/misdiagnosed mental illness can upend a life rather than distract ppl with attempting to accurately portraying a specific mental illness. it sounded to me like she took the extreme stigma attached to schizophrenia with the presentation of borderline personality disorder (more than bipolar).

Leica It's becoming more common to do this I think. Like in Big Bang Theory they deliberately didn't ever say Sheldon had autism, even if it was fairly obvious. Chuck Lorre said it was because he didn't want thousands of letters telling him what he got wrong about the symptoms. (
