Christ was not a fling. Though Alex had many flings, she was not one of them. She was a wonderful person with depth, personality, humor, a family of her own, friends, a vocation of her own and had her own life, outside of Alex. Unlike Bree whose life completely revolve around Alex and his family. Christine is the first woman Alex fell deeply in love with after Maria died. Alex and Christine were engaged and Christine was in three books. She ended up being kidnapped while pregnant with Ali. She is the most normal person in the series with a normal reaction to being kidnapped. Especially after seeing Alex almost killed in his own house. Then being kidnapped. She decided she didn’t want to be in that environment but thought Ali was best being with his father. Everyone else in the series goes on like nothing ever happens in the series which is unreal.
