I was really sad Jose and Rick didn't make it. While there were signs fro the very beginning, I kinda hoped they will manage to stay who they always were. He was my favorite character - a talented outsider in a cold, empty world, who disagrees to bend his back and change who he was
I'd say you don't want to read any more Ishiguro if you don't like this kind of ambiguous ending!
Liz Nichols - I disagree. I disliked this book, yet Never Let Me Go and Remains of the Day are two of my all-time favorite books. One can dislike one book by the same author of books one loves.
