RC Esq., wasn't it Aristotle who said there are only so many themes, and we just keep rewriting them? Something like that? I love the post-apocalyptic genre and if it's handled well don't think it's too overdone. I do see an optimistic future for mankind, even a post-apocalyptic one or, maybe more particularly, the fact that a post-apocalypse represents a sort of eco-cleansing to me, in addition to a rebirth, new beginning--if we're truly lucky--of humanity. That's real, not ugly, RC. I can hang with that. Loving all your titles BTW.
Thanks so much Mary! I think one reason for the preponderance of post-apocalyptic stories at the moment is due to the fact that there's pretty much a general consensus that something needs to change if mankind is going to keep going into the distant future. I set the story a good enough distance from the actual apocalyptic event that it doesn't really factor into the plot that much.
As to my other titles, I only started writing fiction in November of 13. To say I fell victim to the newbie rush to self-publish before revising/editing sufficiently might be an understatement.
