The husband was so frustrating throughout the entire book! He constantly dismisses Blythe's concerns. Then when he told her at the end how he found that Violet had cut up all of Blythe's clothes and was laughing hysterically about it? What a jerk.
I think he'd say that even if Violet had hurt Jet it was because she wasn't loved properly by Blythe. I felt he'd have some way to twist it.
I agree with both of you, he was indeed so frustrating and contributed to this mess ...and yes he would definitely blame Blythe ... maybe Violet got her evil strike from him !
I was so frustrated and annoyed by the husband. If your kid cuts up her mother's clothes (after repeatedly saying that she hates mommy), it's time for some psycological intervention. Instead, he let Blythe believe that she was the one with the problem. Talk about a clueless (and infuriating) male figure. I figured out the ending once Gemma had a baby. Such a disappointing book. Very predictable.
Yep...kind of reminded me of the book We Need To Talk About Kevin.
I agree. And the fact that he didn't find anything wrong with Violet cutting up Blythe's clothes made me think maybe the kid got her psychotic genes from the dad
I think Fox enjoyed the fact that Violet was partial to him. He wanted to stay in denial about anything going on.
