Thank you. The copy I read was the original title published in India with the title “the girl in white cotton”. The last few paragraphs were slightly different - this explains it better. Thank you
I feel that Antara returns home to break the cycle. She doesn’t want to abandon her daughter as she herself was abandoned, both physically and emotionally.
That is a logical way of looking at it. And hoping that's what Antara was doing, but for me, her thoughts and motives weren't too clear.
