Iz I don’t remember this nugget at all!

Maryann I thought the same thing.

Jodi Yes, that bothered me as well. What’s the old phrase, if you love something, let it go....not giving her those letters was a breach of trust to be sure, and in a way, it just pushed off the inevitable. If Dawn had really loved Brian, giving her the letters would have either confirmed that, or allow him to move on. Either way, he might have been better off.

Priscilla I agree. I think if he had given her the letters, she might've even realized Meret was Wyatt's. I didn't like that he didn't have to take any responsibility for playing that part in creating the whole drama.

Lisa I agree! And when Brian finally told Dawn about the letters, she barely reacted. Is that realistic?

message 6: by Kim (new)

Kim I agree. His integrity is damaged by this. Once we know this, it's hard to trust him. Maybe he did sleep with Gita too.

Els I agree!

Judy Rowse That really offended my sense of integrity too, and Brian hung around the hospice and cosseted her when she was vulnerable and desperate. Of course that was good in one way, but he almost trapped her into a marriage he wanted, while she was deranged with grief and pregnancy. Definitely not reasonable for him to get angry that she deceived him at the start of their relationship.

Krondokiller Totally agree that Brian essentially caused this whole deal by withholding the letters. Seemed like Dawn knew about the letters from Brian's admission before she learned of them from Wyatt. Was that just a time ripple Jodi caused by intentionally misleading us about the sequence of events (the plane crash vis-á-vis the ticket change to Egypt) or a Jodi/editor mistake?

message 10: by Judy (new)

Judy Rowse The sequencing was messy I thouoght, and I can't be doing with deliberate misleading, though I did think parts of Picoult's writing were sheer magic. Not sure if I will seek out more of her work.
