Laura You might be interested in another book, White Fragility. That book talks about the belief, common among white people, that as long as you agree that slavery was a Bad Thing, there's nothing you can learn from the personal experience of any black person and therefore no need to listen.

Cecilie Jøhnk You can start out by watching Amber Ruffin's That's how we got here videos and reading the book she wrote together with her sister.
It's not necessarily only about what YOU have done. It's also about what hasn't been done to you.
