yeah they kept almost having conversations but then nick was like, oh no gotta drive my dad somewhere, talk later. then they never talked! and she and sel actually had a deeper connection
No they did not. Most of their conversations always got cut short because of Nick’s duties. Sel and Bree, on the other hand, had several deep conversation and moments that brought them closer. They connected, built trust for each other. Bree trustes Sel with information she doesn’t trust to anyone else, and they seem to speak without words. The unspoken agreements they seem to have during the last third of the book or so, it’s already a lot deeper than whatever Bree may have with Nick.

SPOILER ALERT.............................................................................. I know I'm late but also you can tell that Sel actually respects and understands Bree whereas Nick is always so condescending with her. Sel is never afraid to call her out and he is way smarter then Nick and always ahead. He trained Bree when Nick had "banned" him from talking to her and Sel still risked that solely becuase he didn't like seeing Bree get beaten. He tries to make Bree better without being afraid of hurting her feelings. She's also not afraid to call out his crap so overall they better eachother. Where was Nick then you know... Also Bree can smell Sell aether and she understands him on a whole other level and THEY"RE NOT EVEN BONDED like she can sense when he's angry. Also Nick's dad is gonna cause some issues with Bree and Nick because that always happens. When Bree is upset it's always Sel that is helping her and with her and Nick just kisses her like wth. I don't know but I'm pretty sure that Sel and Bree will end up together even with the whole issue of her being Aurthor scion and him being a Merlin. Also can we just talk about how annoying Nick is like he can't see past his own issues and need to keep Bree close. He asked her to be his squire despite him knowing the backlash she would get and then he LEFT her after she accepted and was bombarded with old creepy people shouting racist things at her and it was Sel who protected her. Nick didn't even consider that her being his squire would put her in great danger and in a freaking WAR all he cared about was being oathed to her. Even after he found her and Sel all he did was kiss her and tell her he was happy he didn't even APOLOGISE for leaving her to be attacked by his poeple. Bree and Nick don't even have the foundation of freindship and trust because tehir relationship was so rushed. However, Sel and Bree went through it all they hated eachotehr, then trusted eachother, then protected eachotehr, then became friends and HOPEFULLY more than friends. Sel and Bree would last but a breakup between her and Nick is inevitable.

They had conversations but all the conversations were about Nick and his problems and never about Bree and how she's feeling, I think that that was the problem for me. And I do agree that Sel and Bree have a deeper connection, they listen to each other and understand each other on a different level, like Sel understands her in a way that Nick can't even come close to. I think a lot of their relationship was mostly like adrenaline and they had been through so much together in such little time that it came off as love and maybe there are some real feelings mingled in there somewhere but I think overall Sel and Bree have a much deeper understanding of eachother.
