I think the snake was a coincidence. And I think Snow went off the deep end. I don't think she did run away to hide from him until he started shooting at her. I think his imagination just got carried away and she was legitimately out digging katniss.
that was what i thought at first as well. i was confused as to why he was shooting. but then it seemed like she did know or at least suspected. otherwise why didn't she come when he called her.
It does seem weird that she sang a song about trusting him the night before, and then ghosted him the next day. but I think when she asked 'who was the third?' she knew he was lying.
See that is another i was confused...but still very ambiguous.
Lucy Gray figured it out because of Snow's "killed three" comment (really, he could have played it to pretend he was talking about HER killcount in the Hunger Games). She's an extremely distrustful person so the second she realized he lied to her about that all bets were off.
I don't think she was trying to kill him though, only get away from him. The snake trap wasn't venomous after all. Snow definitely overreacted trying to shoot her.
hmmm that makes sense.
