In any case I would like to read it in English [or even French] since I don't speak Belgian.

although the language is Dutch not Belgian.
It is however a children's novel about a clan of goblins. So it has quite a few silly moments.
Having said that the themes of the book are a bit more serious.
Tackling the impact of industrialization on a small community that does not fit the mold in which the forces of industry and modernization want to press them.
I was inspired by my long standing interest as a historian in the ways Native american nations reacted and were devastated by the advancing industrialized states and society that coveted their lands.
A second influence has been movements such as the diggers and luddites in 17th and 19th century england. Movements I find particularly fascinating.
So it would be interesting to read it with that in mind.
Who knows what the future will bring, never say never as the Americans tend to say.
I wish I could read it ... It looks really interesting.
