Marinus is a character in Slade House, it's definitely connected to some of the sci-fi themes from The Bone Clocks and without spoiling anyone who isn't familiar, the two timelines overlap in that time of Marinus's life. Not arguing, I just wanted to point this out to anyone reading your comment as I think they'll get more out of Slade House with context from The Bone Clocks.
Should add though that Slade House does stand on its own and can be read without having read The Bone Clocks first and be understood/enjoyable regardless, I just wanted to add that there is the connection between them. :)
