Sarah Bourdeau I don't think Pagan religions are void of vengeful gods but I love your point about Pan protecting the otter's innocence.

Benjamin Stahl I don't think it was remotely antithetical to a Christian scene, unless your view of Christianity is an empty, external one trapped in the 1800s. Even the Pagan tone made sense in that, for me at least, this was merely the way in which the animals experienced their own God-consciousness. And Sarah is right; paganism is hardly devoid of wrathful gods in need of appeasement. In fact, it really should be credited for setting the trend
