I can't find it on any website, either french or english ... is that normal?
I have the "Debt Of Bones" so where does this fit in as I thought this one was the "prequel" to SOT series?
Sandi, The story within DEBT OF BONES falls well after THE FIRST CONFESSOR but before WIZARD'S FIRST RULE. Although we recommend you read it anytime after WFR, for the best understanding of the story and its subject. DEBT OF BONES is a very short novella while THE FIRST CONFESSOR is a feature/full-length novel.
Debt of Bones was a fun read. Planning on starting Faith of the Fallen here soon. Trying to play catchup on the series.

Thanks so much for clearing that up! As I did read "Debt Of Bones" the second time re-reading the series before WFR,and had a much better background and understanding of Zedd and his past. It also made things much more clearer in WFR.Im truly hoping this new book will be sometime in print. I love the world these characters live in as well as the all the characters you have created. Its hard to let them go,and I can understand how hard it must be when these amazing people have become part of yours as a writer. Your wonderful series will last for generations to come:)
I'm happy for you, Terry. lucky, I.still got my kindle fire. I ask couple different book store to get it preorder for the book. I didn't realized that it was for e-book since you said it was self published.
I'm currently reading the books and enjoying it so much Terry. Thank you for crafting yet another masterpiece. While I'm not used to reading off my laptop as I don't have an e-book, I'm glad to get this experience and will likely be one as soon as I can save up enough to make it affordable. Thank you again.
I can't seem to find it on any Canadian sites...is it not available world-wide as promised? I have a kobo, and it's not on the kobo site at all...
Terry, thank you so much for this. I couldn't put the book down or take the time to go back and reference parts of the SoT Novels, but I hope to do that over the next few days. The little twists with Merrit, Quinn, Alric and Magda were so captivating. Loved every second of the read.
Unfortunately, that leaves out fans who can only afford to get books from the library. I'll try to find out if I can get them to buy the ebook edition but they usually only buy from established publishers.
Thanks for continuing to write in this series, Terry. I have read every single one of your novels. I can't get enough! As a self-published writer I am thrilled to see you taking this route and appreciate how difficult it can be. I can't wait to read this release!
Wow! I'm looking forward to read this book. I've finished all Sword of Truth books, including Debt of Bones, and I'm really interested on the story of how confessors came into being. Excited!
Thanks, Terry, it was a great read!
PS Check out the font on a Kindle. The first part of the book appears to have a fixed, small font; thereafter it reverts to the normal variable font size. Your technical team probably need to review the CSS.
I have all of the SOT books on audiobook and was wondering if anyone knows if this book will also have an audiobook format later on?
Stephanie: Yes, we're working on the audio book right now. No ETA just yet, but it's in development.

Thanks for the note Matt. We'll look into it ASAP.
How rare is this? And what does it mean? I stopped by a UBS on a trip back from visting my son,and came across this book
Now this copy is HC printed in Sept 1994 On the back it says "special advance promotional copy" "not for sale" On the inside it says "authors first book advance copy-very scarce" (He wanted $15.00 for it which I pointed out the "not for sale" so I got it for $5.00) What is an advance copy? Will it be different than the other HC & PB that came out story wise? Will anything be missing? And if its "not for sale" how did it get out?
Loved it!! Doesn't seem as long as it is. It was a wonderful visit back to a world we know and love.
Would love to read this, but alas, amazon wont sell it to me via Kindle, and my local fantasy shop doesnt have it yet.. so I guess I'm stuck. Amazon says this kindle isnt for my region (Europe), and amazon UK only serves UK, not mainland Europe.. :(
I'm glad that it's so much longer than the Omen Machine. My only complaint about the Omen Machine was how short it was. It left me wanting more.
I'm interested in reading this, but I'm not familiar with other series....so I guess I need to know....where do I start? Thanks!
Jessica, if you want to start reading these, the first book of the series is Wizard's First Rule. Hope you enjoy it because it is one of my favorite series!

I just read the fifth book of the original series, sadly not one of my favorites. I loved the first four and I'm actually looking forward on Faith of the Fallen. Heard this is one of the best out of the series.
I'm a huge fan of the SOT series. I'm sad that this book is only an e-book... I have a beautiful bookshelf full of the series and I can't add this to it. Plus, I don't have an e-reader nor is it in the budget...

For every e-format it was released in, there are free applications for your computer or iPod Touch/iPhone/
Droid, etc. Just $9.99 for a wonderful book after that!
I chewed my way through this book in two days. Although I prefer a paper back I do like the self publishing as far cheaper than hardback or publisher led ebook. This is one reason why I have bought and read this but not yet bothered with Omen Machine (kindle and hardback over £12 for a format I don't want, I think not)
If you keep self publishing ebooks cheaper than via publishers I will keep buying (but I still want a paper back copy one day).
I just ordered 3 boxed sets plus Confessor. I can't wait! Amazing that Terry Goodkind writes here about his books!Huge fan.

Thank you for the support, Maria. Glad you enjoyed the book. We agree, pricing ebooks above $10 is wrong.

Glad to have the opportunity to be here, Bianca. Thank you.
Dear TG - congrats on the eBook only approach. In 10 years (less?) the naysayers will look back at their comments and feel chagrined. Those of us wanting great literature - whatever the source - applaud the move.
I know we are not talking about SOT here but Terry can you explain why the last book was so disappointing? After a Hugh build up through out the series, the conclusion just seemed like a damp squid. It was really a let down. Would you ever consider doing a book which would encompass a child from Richard and Khalan? I remember Shota saying something like it would be all too powerful, that would be awesome.
Oh btw can't wait till I read about Magda and the great wars, are the sisters of light involved in the book?
Terry
Obviously quite a few people are happy with the ebook format but as I have been collecting the series in hard copy form I am quite disappointed to find I can only get the "First Confessor" via ebook, will it be released in hard copy form at some stage, here's hoping it will.
I'm 95% finished but though I can't wait to read the last few chapters, I don't it to be over. Great job on this one Mr. Goodkind. I am loving Magda and Merritt as much as Richard and Kahlan which I never would have thought possible. Can't wait for more of both stories.
Terry, I would love to know how your self-publishing experiment is going, or is it too early to tell?
I just wanted to share my excitement for this title. Honestly, I have only discovered The sword of truth series after my husband brought it home by hearing about it from one of his clients. I will not be reading this yet as I am only on book four. But I already told my husband about this and he is freaking out. He has already completed the series in four months. He has been devoted to the series and when we find ourselves in hard times he quotes the wizards rules or quotes from the books to lighten up the situation. It's a amazing series and we can't wait to journey back into the world to find out more history that shaped and laid out the foundation for the characters we know and love :)
I love how this book is giving the foundation for the SOT series. I'm enjoying every chapter. And, thanks Terry for the great price on the book. Much appreciated.
