Great review, Karen! I am back and missed you so much! I owe you an email reply soon!!!
I felt similarly -- the read felt like binging a couple seasons of a show, more than one contained tale.
Ive been seeing this book on the loop for a while and didnt make a move. Our taste is similar, so I have decided to hold off. TY
How did I miss this one? Although I loved Lessons in Chemistry I am not sure this one is a fit for me..Helpful review!
I have this on my tbr for some time whenever possible, Karen, so your very fair and helpful review has given me the welcome insight into what to brace myself for when I eventually do. But, as an appreciator of poetry, I'm glad that was a welcome inclusion. 🩵
Terrific review, Karen! 💗 I’m sorry this wasn’t a hit for you like “Lessons in Chemistry”. However, I’m thinking I will pass on this book myself.
I agree with several of your points, it was initially hard for me to get into also. But it's a rare book that moves me as much as this one did and now I've even signed up for a poem a day, LOL!
Thanks for your thoughts on this one, Karen! It's good to know this is another worthy read by this author.
I have wondered about this one. Wonderful review, Karen! Every time I see this title I think of the song line "I love you a bushel and a peck." 🫶
Less is definitely more sometimes. I hope to squeeze this one in sometime soon. I’ve been curious about it. Wonderful review as always!💕💜💕
Love that quote…reminds me of asking my music students, “what color does this music make you feel?” Lovely review📚
This is sitting on my night table, and in fact Garmus is in town promoting her book and I’m supposed to see her tomorrow! I try to rein in my expectations of new books by favorite authors, but admittedly I was beyond excited for this one. Sorry it wasn’t a 5 ⭐️ read. I’ll definitely let you know my thoughts when I finish it! As always, such a thoughtful and well written review!
Karen~ Thank you for your excellent review. I’m about to read this soon, so appreciate your honesty about both the good points and the bad ones.
Thanks for the review! I was going to purchase this last weekend. I may hold a bit , but I am hoping to read it soon
Great review, Karen! Glad you still found enjoyment here. Ugh, the sophomore slump is real though, but hopefully now that she's gotten this out of her way, she can go back to the perfection we remember from her debut.
