However, let me add this: People won't respect you if it's free.
If it's free, people think it must not be any good. Make them pay, and they will pay attention. You'll get real readers there to read you!
Oh, and Beautiful Prison must picked up another 5 Stars on Amazon. Hoot!

I’ve had the same problem myself.
After posting nearly 200,000 words of free stories (some of them part of the same series), I’ve had my fair share of… interesting messages too.
I guess that’s the problem with giving your work away for free. People get used to it pretty quickly.
Anyway, I’d love to check out what you’re posting on SubscribeStar! I can’t seem to find your account, though.
As for your books, I’ve already read them all, except for the latest one, which isn’t available in my country.

nobody has ever looked him in the eye as told him that his work was worth ZERO, but he's free to 'donate' his work for my satisfaction.
i was asked (by somebody i thought was a friend) to attend a party.
but to make sure i brought my 'instrument' ' cause they wanted me to 'play'...
this man was a 'painter' (workman, not artist)
i replied,,'good, we were thinking about holding a house painting party... would you bring your brushes?
i heard no more of the party. (i wasn't upset, either)

Currently, I lose money on every copy of Knight of Chaos I sell. Not a good business plan. More hope is to build fan base.
You have it tough because your work is very niche, like, niche inside of a niche. I know you can write wank material, but you elevate it to literature.
You ARE worth it!
