Aidan Gandhok Something a bit uncommon would be best

Amy Hawkstar Maybe the Serafina (four book) series by Robert Beatty?

message 3: by N4D14 (new)

N4D14 I would recommend Truly Devious

Abby Crayons Keeper of the Lost Cities series! It's at her level and it's also extremely engaging; whether it's through the word building or the story line in general it's something, me, a junior in high school can even enjoy!

Ellie The lunar chronicles, the hunger games, a series of unfortunate events and land of stories!

Andrea Engle Perhaps she’d like “Anne of Green Gables.” It’s an old fashioned reader’s read with a feisty heroine, and the possibility of following Anne as she grows up in the books that follow.
Regards,
Andrea

Anne of Green Gables (Anne of Green Gables, #1) by L.M. Montgomery by L.M. Montgomery L.M. Montgomery

Hannah Reis I also think truly devious is amazing
When i was 12 i like never read actual books only graphic novels until i read the inheritance games and fell in love with reading

〰️Beth〰️ When you say doesn't read anything, what does she like to do? Hobbies? Sports? Shows/Movies she likes? Maybe we can suggest something based on that.

Tommy Hancock I was going to ask something along the same line as Beth. What kind of stuff does she like to watch? Probably the best place to start since you know there's some degree of interest, which IMO is more important than intelligence when searching for reads.

If, for example, she likes Avatar, browsing YA fantasy/adventure stories would be the best place to start.

message 13: by N4D14 (new)

N4D14 Or maybe The Green Kingdom by Cornelia Funke, if She's more into coming-of-age stories

message 14: by Shira (new)

Shira The Hunger Games, or maybe Lore Olympus?

message 15: by J. (new)

J. Beauclerc Maybe start with audio books. Maybe she sees reading as a chore because she has to do it for school. So, she might enjoy an audio book, but couldn't suggest any specific books or authors without knowing what she likes. Good luck.

Audrey McGrail When I was younger I loved The Land Of Stories. I read it when I was in 5th grade and it was a super easy read, so if she gets into it she could continue reading the stories

message 17: by Jenny (new)

Jenny Human Error by j.j. Oates - fast paced book about teens fighting against A.I.

message 18: by J.J. (new)

J.J. Frank Welcome, Aidan! Seconding the questions about what she's into. Holes by Louis Sachar could be a fun starting point if she likes mysteries and adventure. It's a quick read with short chapters, so it doesn't feel like a chore. Hope she finds something she loves!
