Hello!I just joined this group today and was delighted to find another author writing Christian middle-grade fiction!
I've recently published *Behind the Backstop*, a novel for ages 9–13, and I'm beginning its sequel.

The story follows a thirteen-year-old boy as he struggles with the unexpected death of his father and a move that takes him away from the life he knows. As he tries to find his place again, he encounters friendship, mystery, danger, and questions about faith that lead him toward healing and hope.
At its heart, this is a story about grief, family, truth, faith, prayer, and finding one’s way home—to the people who love us and to God’s light.
I’m primarily looking for honest reader reactions rather than proofreading or detailed editing. I would especially appreciate feedback about whether the story holds your interest, whether you connect with the protagonist, how the pacing feels, and whether the Christian themes come through naturally.
