Katherine Reay Thank you! I really appreciate the support -- especially as I start a new one. ;)

message 6: by Jeanne (new)

Jeanne Alfveby Crea I LOVED it!

message 7: by April (new)

April I absolutely loved this book.

message 8: by Joakim (new)

Joakim Kingström I'm loving the book so far but the suspension of disbelief is removed every time the surname Bauer is mentioned. I feel stupid for mentioning it here really, and hope you're not offended, but since its origins are so obviously German, and not Russian, I do feel like I need to!

message 9: by Martha (new)

Martha I just attended your presentation at mjudson in South Carolina Wednesday. This book was so good!! Getting ready to buy the London house . Thank you for a great adventure

message 10: by Sharyn (new)

Sharyn What a time to be reading this book, with so much going on in Russia today. I am 74, so I remember the Cold War too well.
You captured the time periods

message 11: by Sharyn (new)

Sharyn Finish3d the book today. What a great story with so many surprises. It was really nerve wracking from the time Aldrich Ames showed up and I was just waiting, knowing what was going to happen. What a great mother-daughter story.

message 12: by Susan (new)

Susan I have read all your books and I am riveted by this one - it is timely, I think!

message 13: by Anita (new)

Anita This was such a good story-it brought to life that time in history-I remember the television coverage and the names, Phillby and Ames -the treachery took on a much more inhumane quality as you personalized it-thanks so much for your work. I couldn’t put it down

message 14: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Edwards Just began reading and I'm already loving it! Can't wait to see where their stories go.

message 15: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth I couldn’t put this book down!! You are a gifted author!

message 16: by Karen (new)

Karen Oh Katherine! Yet another novel that captivates and inspires all of us to study history and learn more about the world around us. This novel is full of character and depth and intrigue-I loved every plot twist. Having been in Vienna last summer, I could follow their steps through that city and see with my reader’s eye where the action was taking place. I can’t wait to share this with my book buddies!

message 17: by Tonya (new)

Tonya I am just a bit younger than Anya so I grew up with the American experience of that era. Having traveled to the Baltics and St Petersburg and heard the harrowing stories from individuals in Estonia and Latvia, this book came completely alive to me. I will definitely recommend. Beautifully written.

message 18: by John (new)

John A Katherine,

"I'll share a little about why it's means so much to me."

Really? A grammar error by the author?

message 19: by taylor (new)

taylor Begert This book, and the follow up were incredible. Got me back into reading. Thank you Katherine.

message 20: by Angela (new)

Angela Buchanan I love your writing. I have read The Berlin Letters, A Shadow in Moscow, and The London House in the last few weeks. Now picking up The English Masterpiece. I love the perspective and insight you bring to your characters. They have depth and grapple with the core realities and questions of life. Thank you for sharing your gift.

message 23: by Quan (new)

Quan I read your work for the first time recently via audiobook and immediately ordered the hard copy to reread. I then started this book and am enjoying it very much!! Your stories are so very pertinent in this age. I believe this will become a classic!
