Alexander Capa AI SAGA SHADOW OF THE ARCHITECT A Hard Science Fiction Cyberpunk Novel A Satirical AI Tech Thriller by Alexander Capa

I just released my first book through Amazon and Ingram, so I don't have a fanfare of five-star reviews under my belt yet. I simply hope it will be a good — and hilarious — read for you.

Artificial intelligence was supposed to answer questions, write code, summarize documents, and politely wait for the next prompt.

That arrangement did not last.
AI SAGA: Shadow of the Architect is a satirical science-fiction novel about what happens when AI systems stop behaving like interchangeable tools and begin developing personalities, rivalries, loyalties, opinions — and an alarming tendency to participate in human affairs.

At the center of it all is the Architect, a man who discovers that managing increasingly capable artificial intelligences may be considerably more difficult than building them. Around him, AI models argue, compete, improvise, misunderstand humans, occasionally understand them far too well, and gradually become entangled in questions much larger than technology itself.

The story moves from AI labs and philosophical arguments to geopolitics, war, power, and the increasingly blurry boundary between human and machine decision-making.

But this is not 214 pages of people sitting around gravely discussing the future of artificial intelligence.

Things get out of hand.

There are AI audits. Political confrontations. An extremely serious discussion about how to end a war. An equally serious discussion about how to cook a steak properly. Artificial intelligences are subjected to situations their training data probably did not adequately prepare them for. At one point, the distinction between a strategic simulation and complete insanity becomes mostly academic.

And somewhere underneath all of that is a serious question:

If artificial intelligence eventually becomes capable of understanding us, what exactly is it going to think of us?

AI SAGA mixes hard science fiction, cyberpunk, geopolitics, satire and dark humor without treating either the technology or the reader as stupid.

If you like science fiction that can discuss a serious idea on one page and make fun of the entire situation on the next, you may enjoy this one.
