Welcome everyone, this is the place that I provided as a small place to hang out for every member, chatting (or commenting) about literally everything. Cafeteria is not restricted to any theological, philosophical, or any form of commentary in a serious tone. Just enjoy your time talking about anything or letting your heart out in a more casual way. To be true, after an amount of consideration of time, I think we really need a place like this, tied to nothing, we can chat freely and not be bordered by one specific topic. As long as we still respect each other and have a healthy manner of welcoming with open arms, you are free to sit, hang out, and have a sweet precious moment!

Hello, my name is Katya from the US. Originally from Ukraine/Kazakhstan. I’m hoping to branch out from my usual circle and make some bookish friends. Nice to know you Katya, I'm Kei, and sure we can be friends! I haven’t read a lot about Russian literature and mostly spend my time more into the eastern. As in theology, I'm currently focusing on Sufism/mysticism in Islam and the history from the Old Testament. How about you, what makes you interested in Theology? Do you have any interesting reading lately, perhaps, from your exploration in Chinese literature?

Rabiul, Oh, man, I would love to send you my chapter on Reason and Religion, and how they CANNOT get along. I think you might enjoy it. At least it will make you chuckle. I am not looking to convert you or anyone. But since you put so much thought time into this topic, you might find this different view interesting. Let me know if you are interested.

I am John Bliss. I wrote a book, probably like half of you.

My book, The False Paradigms of Today and the Timeless Truth of Tomorrow, is about really challenging the assumptions we have made, assumptions that we have based our lives on. You know, if you have bad assumptions, then how valuable is your impeccable reasoning? The book goes deep into philosophy, but also history.

There were 4M books published last year. It is really hard for us unknowns to rise to the surface.

I have been questioning everything, looking for the meaning of life, and all that for almost 50 years. Does that mean I am special or knowledgeable? Absolutely not.

My favorite book of all time is Les Miserables, because there is not one, but two characters who I would like to be like. I don't think there are any in any other book (that is not scriptures) that I read.

Thank you for being a part of this community, John, and welcome! We have talked a lot in multiple threads, and even though you might consider yourself humble in your knowledge I know you’re a very thoughtful person. You tackle and discuss so many ideas that are quite complex, and some are really challenging to apprehend. 

Oh, about your book, have you considered making a Kindle version of it? I have looked into your product on Amazon but shipping isn’t currently available to my country, and so I assume it’s only covered an amount of registered regions.

Anyway, I'm Keiralika, people usually call me Kei. I used to dedicate my time to volunteer work, surfing through books, a reader by heart and mostly an artist. Nice to know you, hope you’re enjoying this little but lovely space!

Glad you find it great being here, absolutely because it’s a space for sharing and learning, it can’t be compared with Twitter/X, would be hilarious if you try.

Oh, anyway, I have downloaded your book and it’s going to be on my TBR, I'll surely leave a review once I read it. About contacting me, because Goodreads has deleted the personal chat feature, it'll be challenging to reach out outside the group. I think you can still leave a comment in the profile though.

If you found what I wrote to this point interesting, then you should like the book. It is much better than the stuff I write here. I don't really think much here and just write. The book took 13 years and 3 rewrites.

I recently published Cheers for a Good Life in English for the international market, and it reached #1 New Release in Philosophy, Ethics & Morality, so naturally this group caught my attention. 😊

At the heart of the book is a question I keep coming back to: what actually makes a life a good life?
