Felina And we’re back!

message 5: by Marie (new)

Marie Chalupová (Levitara) I have actually borrowed this book from the library back when I didn't even have internet access and was clueless about how it fits into the series. Also I have reread it two times without ever continuing with any other of the books lol. Not sure why, maybe they weren't available at the time I had finished... have to get to this series properly one day...

message 6: by Nirkatze (new)

Nirkatze Crazy to think we're so close to the end, after so long a journey...

And that the authors are still writing more!

message 7: by RachelG. (new)

RachelG. I started this and feel like we might have had some of the information in earlier books. It is interesting seeing the journey Raistlin has gone on.

RachelG. Book 4: Tas and Flint!

message 9: by Nirkatze (new)

Nirkatze OH YAY TAS! And Flint's cool too, I suppose.

I am going to be so late to this BR.

message 10: by Andrew✌️ (new)

Andrew✌️ After years since I've finished the main series of Dragonlance, today I started this book. I found some old friends! I'm sure it will be a good reading!!

message 11: by RachelG. (new)

RachelG. It was great seeing a bit of background on the main characters we grow to love in the other books of Dragonlance.

message 12: by Omar (new)

Omar Iquira Sounds good.

message 13: by Tammie (new)

Tammie Just finished this yesterday and I agree Rachel, it was nice getting the full backstory on Raistlin, and seeing how they all ended up as friends and agreeing to meet up again in 5 years. And Tas and Flint were definitely a highlight for me.

message 14: by Andrew✌️ (new)

Andrew✌️ I've finished this one a couple of days ago. It's a fantastic story that add many elements to the Dragonlance trilogy! Now I'm ready to read the next!

message 15: by Nirkatze (new)

Nirkatze I finished a few days ago as well. I agree with y'all--it was really interesting seeing how the Magiere siblings arrived at the people they are in the start of the series. And I wasn't expecting everyone else to make more than a cameo--so it was a pleasant surprise to see Flint, Tas, Tanis, and even stick-in-the-mud Sturm. I guess it makes sense--the series kicks off with a reunion... but getting to see the origins of the friendship was a real treat.

My favorite part, hands down, was (view spoiler)

message 16: by Nirkatze (new)

Nirkatze After this though--so neatly setting up the very first book--what is left for the second one to cover?

I agree those are my favorite parts too! I also agree about everything else you said. The Kitiara and Tanis thing baffles me.

Nirkatze Maybe it's like the "good girls fall for bad boys" trope, reversed? Is he addicted to danger?

message 19: by RachelG. (new)

RachelG. Her history was interesting to see for sure.

message 20: by DarkScribe (new)

DarkScribe Raistlin is such a compelling lens for ambition and vulnerability. I’m looking forward to seeing how the buddy read handles the tension between his talent and his physical limits—are we keeping the discussion spoiler-light for newcomers?

message 21: by Nirkatze (new)

Nirkatze Mm, I think most of the folks in the thread have been with us for the multi-year read from the beginning. But spoilers can be put in < spoiler > tags for safety.
