I read this the other day and enjoyed it, but I don't feel like this series leaves me with as much to talk about as HWFWM did or Dungeon Crawler Carl does...Even the scene with (view spoiler) didn't leave me with much to say...
I am about third in and yeah idk what to really talk about either. But tbh I don't always feel like I have things to talk about with many books. Or I don't take notes when I do and forget...These books are just fun but they don't really give much food for thought. Maybe some questions on morality. Like the way the "friends" got dealt with.
It feels like the author is slipping into a harem territory here. Just Mira was already a bit awkward but now it's also the snake lady and the succubus...EDIT: Just a bit more forward and maybe it will be more about addressing the trope rather than joining it. Remains to be seen.

Well it's not harem in a sense that he has interest in all of them, more like they all have interest in him (in different ways) and are jealous if the other receives his attentions. The succubus was revealed to get close to him for her own goals rather than actually wanting his attention so she is a bit different case...
Mira is getting liberated on one hand but on the other she is still wanting to be of use to him in quite an unhealthy manner... I hope that's something that she will get over eventually. Some good sign is how his relationship with Miranda changed a lot.
I'm about halfway through and agree... not much solid actual plot in this entry so far, besides the usual Jake fights things and gets stronger, Jake gets attention.But why, Baldree, why did you have to do this to us?

The steady escalation in Primal Hunter makes this a fun series to unpack together—there’s always another system or threat to compare notes on. For those who’ve started #8, is the pacing still brisk, or does it settle into a slower rhythm?
I finished #8, and this book felt like more of a slow grind. Lots of random fighting--but not enough purpose or character growth.
