This is my fourth Nicole Annbury book, and I can honestly say I am witnessing her growth as a writer. Deep Dark Fake is a true testament to that development. I loved the first-person format, which really brought the characters to life and made them stand out. While I absolutely loathed the male antagonist—a character the author purposely made unlikable—he kept me guessing. You never know which direction Annbury is taking him, and there are twists and turns in almost every chapter. In contrast, the main female character is his complete antithesis; she is so vulnerable you just want to protect her. The ending was both surprising and deeply satisfying, leaving the door wide open for a potential sequel. Either way, I thoroughly enjoyed Deep Dark Fake and applaud the author for another great read. Keep them coming, Nicole!
