These are very inaccurate in my experience, they have given both me and my best friend false positives on our writing. And some of them are scams.

I once had one tell me my writing was 100% AI then continue to "humanize" it without my permission, and made me sign in and give them money to see the "humanized" version.

I've had the same weird feeling: a detector calls a page "AI," then offers to sell me a more human version of my own words. That isn't a verdict. It's a shop window.

A score can say a sentence looks familiar. It can't say who sat with the blank page. Once we treat the score like a witness, writers start sanding themselves down just to look less suspicious. That seems like the wrong direction to me. Curious where you'd draw the line between a useful check and that kind of pressure.
