Hi everyone. I’m Anthony Gardner, a self-published author from Greater Manchester, England.
I’m dyslexic, and becoming an author was never something I really believed I could do. When I eventually started writing, though, something clicked and I couldn't stop.
I wrote The Sovereign’s Shadow Saga, and later the Salford Intake trilogy. The strange thing is that actually writing the books wasn't the hardest part — having the confidence to let strangers read them was.
I'd had people put my writing down and tell me, in one way or another, that I couldn't really do this or that what I wrote wouldn't be any good. Being dyslexic, I already had plenty of doubts of my own, so hearing that from other people knocked my confidence more than I probably admitted at the time.
I ended up sitting on finished books for around a year before I found the confidence to publish them.
Eventually I realised there was only one way to find out: stop listening to people who hadn't actually read them and let real readers decide.
That's why I'm posting here. I'm not looking for praise or guaranteed good reviews. I'd genuinely like opinions from people who don't know me and have no reason to tell me what I want to hear. If you think it's great, brilliant. If you think something doesn't work, I'd rather know that too.

It's set in present-day Salford and follows a teenager whose unusual ability to recognise patterns in people and behaviour brings him to the attention of an institutional programme that may be helping him, recruiting him… or trapping him.
The Kindle edition is completely FREE from 1–3 September, so you don't have to spend anything to take a chance on it. There's absolutely no obligation to review it just because you've downloaded it.
