I am currently writing a fictional novel about a soldier dealing with the things she went through/is going through, and have been looking for writings about real life experiences in war and after war. I recently published a book called The Birds Are Coming: A Soldier’s Story of War, Intercession, and Mercy. It’s based on an experience from my time in Afghanistan and how I came to understand it differently years later after returning to the faith.
The book touches on war, faith, and the questions that can stay with us long after an experience is over.
