Thanks for the heads up
A dear retired librarian friend of mine had to put this one down; I guess she is the "sensitive reader" you mention. I, however, think I can handle it. I love Lisa See's writing and hope to read this one soon!
One of my favorite writers since 2007. Been to her book signings in Colorado.

It could almost border on trauma porn - but I think she's telling history and history is often ugly and brutal.
