I have been experimenting with my first book giveaway on Goodreads, though I have done similar on BookBub and also directly myself on Instagram and Facebook. I have to say - and it's not biased in any way - that the Goodreads program is very good. You can see the volume of people interested to win a copy, and also those who have added it to their to-read shelf. Okay, that does not mean that all will read it, but it's a good sign. Right?
My only reservation is the limited reach in terms of region. Only US and Canada albeit these are huge in terms of readership. I believe this is for legal reasons (officially) but given there is a tie in between Goodreads and Amazon I would have thought it more than feasible to wider their coverage.
Whether you are an author or an avid reader, what do you think about Goodreads giveaways? If you are not US or Canada based, any thoughts on this?
