Thank you. You said better than I could of. I really enjoy most of A.G. Riddle's books but this one was an absolute shit show. I may be alone in my opinion but the references to the same things over and over again is starting to get annoying (i.e. Rock of Gibraltar, Triangle Park, etc.). At first, it was interesting but now I'm noticing I can't read a single book without the same references over and over. It makes me want to shake the author and tell him the world is huge and there are places that exist outside these references.
Yep. I really liked how they snuck in, stuck a usb drive in the surgery computer, and brought down the whole trillion dollar evil empire in a few minutes. Really wished I had read this before I paid my money and time for it.
Shame you didn’t like it.. I love Riddle’s work mostly but haven’t read this yet — he does leave the occasional plot-hole but ordinarily it’s not overt but often more of a nuanced gap.. I suggest you try ‘Lost in time’ or ‘Winter World’ to see if he can win you over..
As for the medical specificity, does seem a little lazy and unlike him but I guess it’s also something few readers would notice.. still I’d of thought it’d annoy the author if wrong and that no editing or proofing picked it up!
Hope he’s not slipping with this continued volume he’s pouring out but I guess it’s bound to happen!
Everyone in Aurora went into stasis? I thought it was just the Epoch people.
Not sure why Riddle is getting so much love because you’re right. He doesn’t put in the BASIC research (or even just ask a quora question) for pretty easy things like the “process” of medical training. The entire frame job was so forced and lazy. He has a history of poor craftsmanship when it comes to writing that it’s really alarming how many people consider his books as good. It’s a shame, as he does have the occasional good idea, but his execution is often lackluster at best.
