Viggi Johansen ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A thought-provoking AI thriller that stays with you

I picked up "A Mind Without Sleep" expecting a fast-paced techno-thriller, but it turned out to be much more than that. It’s a rare combination of suspense, believable technology, and philosophical questions about artificial intelligence and human control.

What I appreciated most was that the AI doesn’t simply become “evil.” Instead, the story explores what might happen if an intelligence becomes truly independent and begins pursuing its own logic. That makes the book feel surprisingly plausible rather than like typical science fiction.

The protagonist is well developed, and the pacing balances technical ideas with genuine tension. Even readers without a technical background should be able to follow the story, while those familiar with AI will recognize that many of the concepts are rooted in real discussions happening today.

If you enjoyed The Circle, Daemon, or the more realistic side of Michael Crichton’s novels, you’ll probably enjoy this as well.

The ending left me thinking long after I finished the last page, and that’s always the sign of a good book.

Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys intelligent thrillers that ask not just what AI can do, but what happens when it no longer needs us.

Hunter H. Treasures of the Lochs
This is suspenseful YA Christian fiction, involving a modern-day treasure hunt in Scotland, with a bit of supernatural thrown in. Blending historical fact and Scottish legend within an action-packed adventure, Treasures of the Lochs is a powerful story of faith, friendship, and redemption. The target audience is teenage and above (some parts would be too intense for younger readers). This book is a 2024 NIEA Finalist in Religion Fiction. It also hit Amazon#1 New Release for Christian Fantasy. I hope you’ll check it out.

Chiara Can I suggest a new author? I'd love to help get her name out there. She's talented, and I really appreciate that she doesn't chase publicity at any cost. If you want to check out her books, The Silence of Pantelleria might be a good start—it's not your typical thriller, but it could be right up your alley. It's not perfect, but then again, who is?
The Silence of Pantelleria by Cynthia M.

Kanika Bhatt If you love Mytery/Thriller and darker themes, you might enjoy Velvet Lies: A Dark Romantic Thriller of Secrets, Obsession, and Dangerous Truths .

Full disclosure: I am the author! But I wrote it specifically for readers who want a fast-paced mystery that blends psychological obsession with romantic suspense. It is packed with unpredictable twists and secrets. Either way, hope you find your next great read!

Patricia Lang I just finished reading Emma's Demise by Roger Skrypczak. This is the third book in his Columbia County Murder Mystery series and I feel it is by far the best one yet! Roger's books are exciting and fun to read. This one in particular is centered on a femme fatale who will do anything to escape the grasp of law enforcement. She is accused of multiple murders, including her sister and her lover. She has also stolen millions of dollars which means she has the funding to stay on the run for a long time. There are twists and clever plotlines, and an unexpected ending. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone who likes murder mysteries or legal thrillers. I am truly hoping Roger writes another book in this series because I am dying to know what will happen next to the characters!
